Willner describes the Jewish neighborhood centered around Cherry street in Seattle in the years 1942-1946. She discusses various small businesses and landmark establishments, such as Horace Mann Elementary School, Madrona Theatre, and the Talmud Torah school. She describes the different residential areas, the Sephardic and Ashkenazic communities and the overall social life of the neighborhood. Willner also gives a brief history of Willner's Department store and comments on social changes in the Central Area. Willner discusses the founding if Ner Tamid synagogue, the merger of Ner Tamid with Herzl synagogue, and her family's involvement in congregational activities. The accession also includes a photocopy of a Willner's Bargain Store receipt (1938).
